Pin Copy Studio is a product of Shared Authority (sharedauthority.com), made specifically for ViralPinPower.com’s Pinterest training community.
This Chrome extension (“Pin Copy Studio”) helps you generate SEO-optimized
Pinterest titles, descriptions, and alt text. This page describes exactly
what data the extension collects, where it goes, and how to remove it.
1. What we collect
The extension collects only what you type into it and the credentials you
choose to enter.
a) Google Gemini API key (BYOK mode)
- If you paste a Google Gemini API key into the “Bring Your Own Key” card
in Settings, it is saved using Chrome’s local extension storage
(chrome.storage.local). It is stored only on your device. - The key is never synced to any Google account, never uploaded to our
servers for storage, and never logged. - On each generation, the key is forwarded along with that single request
through our Cloudflare Worker proxy to Google’s Gemini API and is not
retained.
b) PinPower premium token (course students)
- If you paste a PinPower premium token (format: pp_…), it is also stored
in chrome.storage.local on your device only. - We do maintain a server-side record of your token’s credit balance,
monthly reset date, and total usage count for the sole purpose of
enforcing your monthly credit limit. We do not store the contents of
generations linked to your token.
c) Generation inputs
- When you click “Compose the copy,” the inputs you provided
(topic, source URL, keywords, tone, audience, monetization choice,
and pin-type selection) are sent to our Cloudflare Worker and forwarded
to Google’s Gemini API to produce a draft. - We do not log or persist these inputs after the response is returned.
d) Generated drafts
- Drafts (title, description, alt text) are saved in chrome.storage.local
so the side panel remembers them between sessions. They never leave your
device unless you click “Fill Pinterest” (which only writes them into
Pinterest’s own pin-creation form).
2. What we do NOT collect
We do not collect, request, or transmit:
- Your browsing history
- Any data from sites other than the explicit topic/URL/keywords you supply
- Pinterest account credentials, cookies, or session tokens
- Personal identifiers (name, email) unless you voluntarily provide them to
us through other channels (e.g. enrolling in the PinPower course) - Analytics, telemetry, or tracking pixels
- Advertising identifiers
3. Third-party services
Generation requests pass through:
- Cloudflare Workers (our hosting layer) — see Cloudflare’s privacy policy:
https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/ - Google Gemini API (the AI model that writes the copy) — see Google’s
Gemini API terms: https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms
When you use BYOK mode, you are accepting Google’s terms directly through
your own API key.
4. How to remove your data
- Click “Clear key” or “Clear token” in the extension’s Settings page to
remove your stored credentials from this device. - Uninstall the extension to delete all locally stored data
(chrome.storage.local is cleared automatically on uninstall). - To revoke a Gemini API key globally, visit
https://aistudio.google.com/apikey - To revoke a PinPower premium token, contact hello@viralpinpower.com
5. Data retention
- Local data (credentials, drafts): retained on your device until you clear
it or uninstall. - Server-side premium token usage data: retained for the lifetime of the
token (typically 90 days) plus 30 days for audit purposes, then deleted.
6. Children
The extension is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly
collect any data from them.
7. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and the “Effective
date” above. Continued use of the extension after a change constitutes
acceptance.
